Please consider reviewing my new book about the Statue of Liberty. Enlightening the World: The Creation of the Statue of Liberty follows the 21-year journey from conception of the statue in France to her unveiling at Bedloe's Island (now Liberty Island) in 1886. Figures central to the story include the Marquis de Lafayette, symbol of friendship between the people of France and the United States, the "friend of America" Edouard Laboulaye, and the statue's devoted sculptor Auguste Bartholdi.

The book was published by Cornell University Press in March 2010.

Thank you!
