What is le Courrier des Etats-Unis?
On Saturday March 1,1828 the first issue of Le Courrier des Etats-Unis was published. The weekly newspaper was founded by Felix Lacoste and funded by Prince Joseph Bonaparte ,Napoléon’s older brother. The original Courrier des Etats -Unis ceased publication on December 25,1937. The editors of the new Courrier des Etats-Unis,without claiming any link with the original newspaper, will be guided by the principles of the founding editors, tolerance to all, betterment of mankind, and refraining from taking any positions in American politics.
The editors do not aim to comment on all topics , rather, they will offer you a highly eclectic and idiosyncratic vision of the day’s issues. Some comments will deal with language issues-what is the difference between « réaliser » and « realize » or between « versatile » in French and in English-others with economic issues and corporate governance ( mostly honored in the breach some might argue) or with scientific developments or simply with what a curious mind might find interesting, much as Lord Peter Wimsey’s motto wrought by Dorothy Sayers expresses so aptly: »As my whimsy takes me ».We will post new items more than once a week and less than daily so do check us out and use the RSS feeder.
Do all feel free to send in you comments, criticism and suggestions.

Bonjour,
Merci,
Mr ABIT Dominique
